100 Flags International Heritage Festival

The 100 Flags Heritage Festival is held each year in Grande Prairie during August long weekend. This year the event was organized by Grande Prairie Youth Emergency Shelter Society (Sunrise House) at Rock City Night Club on August 1 and at the amphitheater of Muskoseepi Park on August 2.

Festivity includes Taste of Culture, Uganda Dance, Belly Dancing, Brazil Dance, and many others. Oh yea, the mascot for 2010 Arctic Winter Games was there, too. ;)

I was a volunteer to help the set-up at Rock City Nightclub yesterday. Today I went to Muskoseepi Park to enjoy the outdoor performances with some delicious cultural dishes. :D The weather was very cooperating; it was sunny during the performances although the forecast predicted shower in late morning and early afternoon. I guess we were very lucky. :)

Just now I learned that Big Valley Jamboree Country Music Concert ended early today, after the storm (a possible tornado touched down at 5:55pm) collapsed the stage, killing one and injuring dozens…read more. :shock:
