Alberta and its neighbour, Saskatchewan, were established as provinces on September 1, 1905. Year 2005 marked the 100th birthday for Alberta to join the Confederation of Canada. The centennial celebration took place in Alberta Legislature Grounds during Labour Day long weekend with fireworks display.
In year 2012, Alberta’s iconic architecture—Alberta Legislature Building—turned 100 years old!!! To recognize this milestone, Party Under the Dome festivities and centennial celebration of light fireworks show will take place in Alberta’s capital on September 2 during Labour Day long weekend.
The following photos were taken in year 2004 Christmas, and already the building was decorated in preparation for Alberta Centennial Birthday in year 2005.
