Icefields Centre / Glacier View Inn is closed during winter; however, the highway is usually open with regular maintenance by rangers and has little snow. On rare occasions, the highway can be closed due to heavy snow, icy condition, or strong winds, so please check road condition prior to your departure.
This winter wonderland is even more amazing in winter!! The Athabasca Glacier is by roadside. It is very very very quiet. Enjoy the moment of solitude.
