There are two trailheads to the south side of Dawson Falls: one for commercial buses and the other for everyone else. Read the end of this article for trailhead map. The commercial bus parking lot is definitely closer to the viewing platforms of the waterfalls. Try early morning or late afternoon to park your car at the commercial parking to save your hiking time! The trail accesses two viewpoints: one at the brink of the falls and one with a photographer’s panoramic view. One way hiking time is less than 5min from commercial parking and about 10min from the other parking lot.
Pyramid Campground, one of four campgrounds in Wells Gray Park, is just northeast of Dawson Falls and has 50 sites. There may be various rough trails from the campground to the north side of Dawson Falls. It will be cool to stand on one of those rocks on the north side during low water seasons; a picture there will be magnificent.
