Ethan Boroian Chicago Illinois (10-03-2009)

October 3 Judges’ House Performance: see below!!!

Originally from Chicago, IL, USA, 19-year-old Ethan studying with friends in Surrey in Royal Holloway University of London has a passion for music and thinks he’s got what it takes to go all the way. Has Ethan’s move to Britain been the best decision of his life? Was his move from the USA worthwhile?

He sang “Use Somebody” by Kings of Leon on XFactor. He didn’t even sing the full 2 minutes, and yet his voice was absolutely sensation and so impressive that Judge Simon cut his performance short. Dannii Minogue declared Boroian a “little superstar — we need another slice of that.” Cowell, cutting short the audition by waving his palms in the air, observed that he “really likes music,” a conclusion landed upon thanks to an expert nose for sniffing out music-loving singing-competition contestants, as well as the unmistakably bohemian scarf coiled around Boroian’s neck.

Ethan moved to France at the age of two. He began playing guitar at 13; joining a band with two of his friends after playing guitar for only a few months. The band, “Jona’s Basement”, focused on rock music and played various clubs, including New Morning in Paris. It was only after the band broke up in 2003 that Ethan began approaching different styles of music. After a year of playing strictly Blues and Jazz, Ethan decided to move forward looking at other genres. Ethan started to write his own music at the age of fifteen, and has never looked back. Now living in England while he studies at Royal Holloway University of London, he still finds the time to write music and dreams of people all over the world listening to his music.
