Glacier Public Service Center

The Glacier Public Service Center on the Mt. Baker Scenic Byway, State Route 542, serves visitors headed into the northern reaches of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and North Cascades National Park. Your vehicle has to display a park permit while traveling on any forest roads within Mt. Baker. The park permit can be purchased any time of the day everyday from a vending machine outside Glacier Public Service Center.

If you intend to go hiking in Mt. Baker area, make sure you drop by this visitor information center to inquire about the latest trail conditions. When I went there in August, 2011, some of the trails were still closed due to snow!!! Check Glacier Public Service Center for office hours.
