The forecast says tonight may have northern lights due to a recent CME activity directed toward Earth, so I decided to go out and try my luck. Unfortunately I didn’t see any!!! How disappointing. I did capture some milky way photos, instead. The light pollution from the city made the milky way difficult to see.
December 27, 2011: Milky Way directly above a harvest combine located in the outskirt of Grande Prairie City. Pleiades Seven Sisters can be seen on the upper right corner. Constellation Orion (three stars in a straight line as Orion's belt) is lying just above the combine.
