Santa Claus Parade is held on the first Sunday of December or last Sunday of November in Downtown Grande Prairie each year. Parade will be canncelled if the temperature with wind chill effect is below -20oC. However, from past experiences, the parade has NEVER been cancelled. If the temp falls below -20oC, the parade will just be shorter with a few floats dropping out; eg, the marching band will not participate to play music in the cold. It’s up to the individual organizations to decide whether to show off their floats in extreme weather.
