Kay Falls Hiking Trail

Kay Falls, east of Taft Crazy Creek Waterfalls Resort - Revelstoke, BC, Canada | SAM TSAI . COM

July 29, 2012: Kay Falls at Revelstoke, BC

Kay Falls is one of the few waterfalls nearby Revelstoke, BC. The most well known waterfalls in this area is probably Crazy Creek Waterfalls and Resort.

Kay Falls is located at Eagle River Bridge, about 3.5km east of Crazy Creek Falls. (See map below for driving direction.) Unlike Crazy Creek Falls, the hiking trail is absolutely free to the public. No admissions fee is required. The falls is barely visible from the Trans Canada Highway now; however, there is a large pullout on the east side of Eagle River Bridge, and a short hiking trail of merely 100m leads to an open area at the base of the falls. Kay Falls is a tall, fan shaped drop that drapes a broad rock face. Because of its short hiking distance, it can be a great location for wedding photography.

July 29, 2012: The water is not as strong as Crazy Creek Waterfalls, so it's possible to stand directly under the falls for some cool splashes if you don't mind being wet.

July 29, 2012: The rocks are slippery, so be careful when hiking up to the base of the falls!
