June 1, 2011: Lying next to Mistaya Canyon waterfalls

Mistaya Canyon is formed by Mistaya River, creating distinctive curvy canyon walls. This popular sightseeing spot for tourists is easily accessed from the Icefields Parkway, 6km south of Saskatchewan River Crossing or 71km north of Lake Louise. The hiking trail is pretty short, only 500 meters; however, it is too steep for wheelchairs. The canyon is deep and there are no railings, so watch your steps! The trail is icy in early spring.
