Watch Michael Phelps: record-breaking eighth gold at Beijing 2008

The United States clocked a new world record of 3:29:34 to win the men’s 4×100m medley relay as Michael Phelps claimed his eighth gold medal at the Beijing Olympics here on Sunday.
Australia took the silver in 3:30.04 and Japan got the bronze in 3:31.18.
American swimmer Michael Phelps has become the first athlete ever to win eight gold medals in one Games, beating a 36-year old record by Mark Spitz. So far, Phelps has won a total of 14 olympic gold medals in all olympic games that he participated in, including Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, and Beijing 2008. He will compete in London 2012 as well.
