NK’MIP Desert Cultural Centre is one of the tourist attractions in NK’MIP Resort (pronounced: “in-ka-meep”). Other nearby attractions include NK’MIP Cellars Winery, Spirit Ridge Vineyard Resort & Spa, Sonora Dunes Golf Course, and NK’MIP Campground and RV Park.
The Desert Cultural Centre provides desert landscapes and living culture of the Osoyoos Indian Band. Hiking trail loop behind the red wall gives tourists chances to see some desert wildlife; eg, rattlesnake, scorpion, black widows, etc.
Ever wonder what’s behind that Red Wall?
The red wall is called “Rammed Earth Wall.” Radiant heating and cooling system are incorporated into the ceiling and wall slabs, yielding excellent thermal qualities and greater energy savings than traditional air-conditioning.
