Osprey Falls, named for the ospreys that nest here each year, is located at the end of Clearwater Valley Road in Wells Gray Provincial Park of BC, Canada. The water in Clearwater Lake empties over this waterfalls into Clearwater River. It is an L-shaped falls over 500m (1600ft) wide and about 4m (13ft) high in low-water season (from August to April). During those months, it is possible to hike down to the river bank and stand at the base of the falls. At high-water season (May to July) due to melt snow, the water volume in Clearwater River is so high that Osprey Falls can be completely covered under the currents and disappear!
Two large campgrounds are located at the end of Clearwater Valley Road by Clearwater Lake, where boat tours, boat rentals, and public boat launching are available.
