New Year’s Eve 2005 Fireworks at Edmonton Churchill Square

Alberta New Year Fireworks 2006These pictures were taken on Dec 31, 2005—the day I returned back to Edmonton from Vancouver. Yep, had to come back on New Year’s Eve, because school starts on Jan 3. Need Jan 1 and 2 to clean my apartment. :)

I went to Churchill Square where Edmonton City Hall is located to see New Year’s Countdown Fireworks. There were way more spectators this year than last year. This year’s weather was super nice. Not a trace of snow on the ground and the temp was less than -10ºC. Last year it was freezing cold, -30ºC with lots of snow on the ground. Fireworks aren’t as spectacular as other big cities. After all, Edmonton has a small population in spite of being the 5th largest city in Canada.
