Wow, a pig fluoresces from inside out. All internal organs and eyes are fluorescent. Researchers inject fluorescent green protein taken from jelly fish into pig embryos, and the result is pigs that fluoresce. This definitely has a great potential in pre-clinical trial research. The currently intended use of the fluorescent pigs is to monitor the healing process of tissue following various experimental conditions, such as trauma, cancer implantation, tissue graft surgery, etc. The potential application of this breakthrough is, without a doubt, enormous.
