Federal Election Canada Vote Result in British Columiba Ridings
Well, Conservative won as a minority government this time, but I suspect it will last long. After all, it’s just a minority and early dissolution is usually what a minority government will encounter, since policies and projects are difficult to implement.
When I look at the voting results in BC, I can see a very interesting trend. The interior regions of BC favor Conservative Party, which in a sense is highly conceivable. These regions have long be known to dislike Liberal government, since usually those areas are where the government funding is cut first. Tories get seats in these regions easily without any effort for sure. In metropolitan area (ie, Vancouver Lower Mainland), cities that do not benefit from Winter Olympic 2010 tend to lean toward either NDP or Conservatives, since they don’t have other choices than those two parties. Burnaby is such a good example.
Of course, cities that benefit the economic growth from Winter Olympic projects elect Liberal in their ridings such as West Van, North Van, Vancouver West, Vancouver Central, Richmond, etc. ![]()
