World’s Largest Passenger Jet, Airbus A380, to Nunavut Canada

The Super Jumbo Airbus A380—the world’s largest passenger plane—is scheduled to make its first trip from France to the Nunavut capital Iqaluit on February 6, 2006, where it will undergo cold weather testing in Nunavut under extreme weather conditions of down to -40º Celsius. Previous testing includes high altitude tests in Colombia, and hot weather tests are to begin this summer. This will be the first time A380 airbus flying to North America.

This super jumbo jet was unveiled at the Jean-Luc Lagardere Final Assembly Line Hall in Toulouse, France on January 18, 2005. This superjumbo airplane has three decks: the top two for passengers and the lower one available for multi-recreational purposes.

The left picture shows the first executive class seating plan with wide aisle, extra leg space, comfy bed and an office desk equipped with a computer—the most luxurious travelling experience Airbus A380 will offer.
The aircraft will also have a variety of luxury features ranging from recreational multi-purpose facilities (like casino, gym fittness center, a fast-food franchise, duty-free shop, library, club-style bar, conference meeting room) to personal care amenities (stateroom with luxurious beds, shower, spa). You name it. However, these are just tentative features. It’s likely that each plane will have its own unique combination of services. To fit all these into one single airplane is undoubtedly a huge challenge. We’ll see what happens when its first commercial service is scheduled sometime this year.
