World Transplant Games
Yep, 2005 World Transplant Game at London, Canada. I’ve been to the game. Believe it or not!!!
Shown left are my winning medals.

I remember sometime this semester one of the instructors in Diagnostics & Treatment Planning (Dr. Bill Preshing) gave us a lecture on transplants. He briefly mentioned the statistics on the number of recipients per year for various types of organ transplants, such as the common one—kidney transplant. He then suddenly mentioned that there was even a game so called “World Transplant Games. It seems hardly conceivable that organ transplant recipients can actually do sports. Yep, I was there in the game, and the game participants just look like normal people.
You can hardly tell people apart who have organ transplants and who have not. Of course, that’s why I could blend myself so well into the game, pretending I was a recipient and got those medals shown on top left.
Below are the pictures I took when I attended the closing ceremony of World Transplant Games at University of Western Ontario in London. It’s truly an international game with participants coming from around the world. The weather was super awesome.
Ps. Actually the medals are not mine. Only transplant recipients are eligible for the games. ![]()
