Vancouver 2010 Bidding History for Winter Olympic Games

Three canadian cities chose to bid for 2010 Olympic Game: Vancouver, Calgary, & Quebec. Calgary hosted 1988 Winter Olympic Games. Vancouver and Quebec never host any olympics, but Montreal (a city in the same province as Quebec City) hosted 1976 Summer Olympic Game. At the end, Canadian voted for Vancouver to represent Canada internationally as the candidate host for 2010 Olympics.

Four cities were chosen by IOC (international olympic committee) as the finalists for 2010 Winter Olympic Games:
Canada - Vancouver
Austria - Salzburg (also the birthplace for Mozart ›› read more)
Switzerland - Berne (withdrew due to referendum against the bid)
Korea - Pyeongchang (bid again for 2014 olympic)

So, in summary, Vancouver-Whistler has to come up with 3 different emblems in order to host the XXI Winter Olympics in 2010.
