High Level Dentistry Student Rotation - University of Alberta
Monday, May 22, 2006 was our first day clinic in High Level, Alberta. It was Victoria Day, a public holiday, but we began our work immediately that day.

High Level Hospital interior view. This hospital is brand new. Only 2 years old. It’s very clean inside. Everyone, including the patient, has to take off their shoes before entering the hospital!!!
People are either bare foot or wearing socks. This is something that you won’t see in big cities.

Dental clinic in the hospital. Very new with modern equipment. There are 4 chairs in the clinic.

Bottom right: lab area

Left: panorex machine
Middle: staff room
Right: toilet with a sensor for automatic flushing!!! Sit still, or else you’ll get flushing easily for leaning your head forward! ![]()

Claire Ference (DDS 2007) and Euvgen (dental assistant)

Pat (dental assistant)

Thomas Heinrich (German exchange student from Dresden University, Germany). Close his eyes as always during picture taking!!!

Susanne Neubert (German exchange student from Dresden University, Germany). We call her “Susi.”

Terri (receptionist in the dental clinic), who likes to add swearing words in her talk. What a bizarre combination for this position!!!

Of course, what else can be better than a chicken BBQ after our first day clinic on a public holiday.
