Vancouver General Hospital VGH - Banfield Volunteering Team
The following picture was taken on June 27, 2003 in celebration of Canada Day at VGH Banfield Pavilion. I volunteered at Vancouver General Hospital since February 2002. It was a memorable experience. I was a volunteer in Wednesday night recreation. We did different activities each Wednesday; eg, bingo, casino, and singing. There are also special events; eg, Chinese New Year, Easter Day, Canada Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Sometimes I played piano to the senior residents, too, and many of them as well as the nursing staff absolutely loved it.
My favourite pieces are Bach piano concerto in F minor BWV1056, Rachmaninoff prelude Op23 No. 4 in D major, Pachelbel Canon (George Winston version), and several Richard Clayderman piano pieces (A Comme Amour, Ballade Pour Adeline, Mariage D’amour, Nostalgy, Souvenir D’enfance, Un Histoire D’AMour, The Music Box Dancer, Promenade Dans Les Bois, etc). I hope they didn’t mind my piano playing since I only took piano lessons for a year at the age of 18. ![]()

I found out today that VGH has a new name: VCH (Vancouver Coastal Health). The website also looks different. ![]()
