I did an MODL today!
I thought I would did that MODBL first, the one that I talked about a few days ago. It turned out I had an MODL from another patient today.
Got a phone call from that patient last Friday and didn’t know how extensive the filling was broken off. Didn’t know what to expect and wasn’t prepared for this one actually. Well, MODL there was. I’d better do something today, right? Otherwise the patient would continue to have tooth sensitivity. The broken filling was a ¾ gold crown which came loose a few years ago and was re-cemented in. This time the partial crown came off again, so I put a pin plus amalgam this time. (BTW, it wasn’t me who re-cemented that crown last time.
) Anyway it turned out alright. First, I had to give two inferior alveolar nerve blocks. Somehow the first didn’t work that well. Did I miss the nerve?
Good that the second injection gave a good anesthesia. Took me 2 hours to do just that one, though. So slow.
Hopefully the pin stays well and gives enough retention for the amalgam filling.
