MONTREAL — A Chicoutimi, Que., high school is in mourning after a 15-year-old girl with a food allergy died suddenly after kissing her boyfriend who had eaten peanut butter.

“Kiss of Death,” an old dental saying from our endodontics instructor, Dr. Donald Yu, when the root canal is blocked and thus failed during root canal treatment. But…this time, it’s not about the root canal in dentistry. It’s about the blockade of the respiratory tract due to anaphylatic shock. Even worse, it’s from a real kiss—a very sad story.
