This section will be devoted to my past summer research in UWO (University of Western Ontario) in 2005. I took more than 1000 pictures when I was there. Can you believe that? This summer at UWO was one of the best research experience I have had so far. I mean my traveling and living expenses were 100% subsidized by NORTH (Network for Oral Research Training and Health)—a national research program for all dental students across Canada. I didn’t have to pay a single cent to get there. Wasn’t that nice?! Initially I wasn’t aware of that. I asked the NORTH program coordinator at UofA if I could get any funding for doing a NORTH project in a university other than my home university; ie, University of Alberta. He said there could be a max limit to what I could get. I thought…well at least I could get something. It was better than NOTHING!!! Hence, I submitted my application to NORTH anyway. It turned…

The followings are the pictures I took during my study at the University of Alberta. The pix were taken on Oct 22, 2005. It’s autumn right now. Lots of red/orange leaves fallen on the ground, blending very well with the colour of campus buildings. UAlberta campus looks like the Russia Red Square. Lots of red buildings. Yea, Dentistry building is one of them!

I thought the campus is small. On the second thought, it’s pretty huge, I feel. It took me almost a day to walk around the entire campus!!! I had to do it in 2 separate tours: one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. Below are pix taken in the morning and includes: LRT University / Gradin Station (Edmtonton Light Rail Transit), Dentistry / Pharmacy Centre, Administration Building, Students Union Building (SUB), Campus Bookstore, Agriculture / Forestry Centre, Pembina Hall, Athabasca Hall, Assiniboia Hall, QUAD, Central Academic Building (CAB), Faculty of Engineering, Engineering Teaching and Learning Complex (ETLC) & Maier Learning Centre, Electrical and Computer Engineering Research Facility (ECERF), Cameron Library, Power Plant, Rutherford Library, School of Business, Earth Sciences Building, Tory Lecture Theatre Complex, Rutherford House, Faculty of Arts, and the famous Convocation Hall.
