According to Lunar calendar (่พฒๆ›†), Chinese New Year also known as Spring Festival (ๆ˜ฅ็ฏ€, ๆ˜ฅ่Š‚) falls on Sunday, February 18, 2007—The Year of The Boar (่ฑฌๅนด, ็Œชๅนด). People start new year celebration two days prior to Chinese New Year’s Day; ie, New Year’s Mini-Eve at work (ๅฐ้™คๅค•) and New Year’s Grand-Eve with family (ๅคง้™คๅค•). Then the celebration continues for another 15 days, ending on Lantern Festival (ๅ…ƒๅฎต็ฏ€, ๅ…ƒๅฎต่Š‚) where crowds gather together with lantern extravaganza (็‡ˆๆœƒ, ็ฏไผš). This year Lantern Festival is on March 4, 2007. ;)

Pig incompatible with Muslim? Or,…Muslim incompatible with Pig? That’s the question!

I guess each has their religious or cultural beliefs. I wonder why Muslim community tries to ban every single country on earth from issuing Year of Pig stamps,….as if their religion is more important than others. :-? I think mutual respect should be the focus instead of overpowering one or the other.
