May 25, 2012: A momument for Pyramid Mountain and Island.
Pyramid Mountain was named for its pyramidal shape by James Hector in 1859. It is a natural landmark that overlooks Pyramid Lake
and the town of Jasper. There used to be a tramway/gondola to the top of Pyramid Mountain, but is no longer there. The mountain is a relatively easy scramble on the eastern slopes and can be reached by following a steep fire road from the parking lot at Pyramid Lake
, 4.5km southeast of the peak.
