Ramona Falls is located in Mount Hood National Forest, about 62 miles (100 km) east of Portland, Oregon. This magnificent 120-foot waterfalls consists of many small cascades successively pouring from the tops of hexagonal columns of basalt. These columns were formed by erosion of a basalt lava flow resulting from the volcanic activity surrounding Mt. Hood. Visitors can hike down to the base of Ramona Falls and stand under it with some glacial water splash! Undoubtedly, a world famous waterfalls. :D Mount Hood National Forest is one of the most visited national forests in the United States, with over four million visitors annually. The forest contains 170 developed recreation sites, including:
- Timberline Lodge, built in 1937 on west face of Mount Hood
- Lost Lake
- Burnt Lake
- Trillium Lake
- Mirror Lake
- Timothy Lake
- Rock Creek Reservoir
- The Old Oregon Trail, including Barlow Road
- Bagby Hot Springs
