Sun Peaks Resort is an alpine ski resort located 50 km northeast of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. Sun Peaks area averages over 2000 hours of sun a year. The ski area comprises three mountains: Tod Mountain, Sundance Mountain, and Mt. Morrisey. The resort, the largest destination ski resort in Interior BC, is best known for its award-winning downhill skiing, besides cross country, snowboarding, and snowtubing.
In summer the resort is comparatively quieter with activities ranging from mountain biking to golfing to hiking and wildlife viewing. There are some lakes southeast to the resort by accessing on gravel roads. Not sure if fishing is possible in those lakes. The gravel roads southeast of resort can also be ATV / quad trails in summer or snowmobile trails in winter. Bring your GPS lest you get lost! One must-do activity during summer time in Sun Peaks is to hike up a secluded, moss-covered hiking trail to the amazing Sun Peaks Waterfalls!!!
