Sun Peaks Resort is better known for its winter festivity: downhill skiing, nordic cross country, snowboarding, snowshoeing, snowtubing, etc. Surrounded by Tod Mountain, Sundance Mountain, and Mt. Morrisey, the resort can be a fun place in summer, too, for hiking in mountain meadows and wildlife viewing. There is also a waterfalls nearby and some lakes southeast for possible fishing / ATV / quadding / snomobile. A golf course is in the resort as well.
Located on an isolated mountain top with little light pollution, Sun Peaks Village can be a good location for stargazing and possible Milky Way viewing at night.
