Athabasca Falls

Athabasca Falls is located next to Icefields Parkway Highway 93, approximately 30km south of Jasper townsite. The waterfalls is well known for its powerful force due to the large quantity of water falling into the gorge, even during autumn when the water flow level is the lowest. It is not known so much for its height (23 metres).

If time allowed, you may also want to hike down the Athabasca Canyon formed millions of years ago through erosion and carving of powerful Athabasca River Falls.

On a clear night, Athabasca Falls is one of the great locations for viewing Milky Way along Icefields Parkway in Jasper National Park.
