Gold Run Falls

Gold Run Falls is located by Twin Lakes Road (National Forest Develop Rd 3065) in Mt. Baker National Park. Twin Lakes Road is a single-lane gravel road; drive with caution!

Check the road condition at Glacier Public Service Center, because the road may be closed due to snow! Check below for map and direction.

Waterfalls & Glaciers along Heliotrope Ridge Trail

Heliotrope Ridge Trail is one of the most hiked trails in Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. You can see many waterfalls and glaciers along the way. Below are just a few that can be seen at the trail head of Heliotrope Ridge Trail. Check the map below for direction.

Heliotrope Ridge Trail involves crossing of a few rivers/creeks (some big, some small) and glaciers if snow hasn’t melt. So check the trail condition at Glacier Public Service Center, prior to hiking!

Roosevelt Falls and Roosevelt Glacier

Head East on the Mt. Baker Highway to the town of Glacier. Just past the town turn right onto Glacier Creek Road. Follow Glacier Creek Road for 9.2 miles to Heliotrope Ridge Trail Head.

Mt. Baker in Summer

After seeing Nooksack Falls, I continued on Wells Creek Road (National Forest Development Road 33) in order to see Wells Creek Falls. Unfortunately, the water was too high this year. I crossed the creek a few times and eventually gave up.

The following picture was taken somewhere along Wells Creek Road, prior to arriving at the waterfalls. It gives a very nice summer view of Mt. Baker.
