February 7, 2012: Full Moon in Grande Prairie Continue reading Happy Lantern Festival from Grande Prairie » A coronal mass ejection (CME) hit Earth’s magnetic field on January 22, 2012 (Chinese New Year’s Eve), resulting in glowing auroras dancing over the County of Spirit River. The following photos were taken nearby the village Rycroft, located 7 km east of Spirit River and 68 km north of the city of Grande Prairie. 
January 22, 2012: Northern Lights display on Chinese New Year's Eve around 8pm at Herman Flad World Champion Chuckwagon Driver Memorial Site.
