July 31, 2011: Lighthouse Park at West Vancouver Exif DataCamera: Canon 60D and EF-S 18-200mm f3.5-5.6 IS Lens I’ve lived in Vancouver for more than 20 years, and this is my first time visiting this Chinese Garden along Steveston Highway between No. 3 and No. 4 Road in Richmond. It’s impressive.

In front of the space centre is an iconic giant crab sculpture standing in a fountain. The crab was designed by Vancouver artist George Norris and built of welded stainless steel by Gus Lidberg in 1967 to celebrate Canada’s 100th birthday. The crab contains a time capsule in its belly to be open on Canada’s Bicentennial, July 1, 2067. According to Haida legend, the crab is the guardian of the entrance to the harbour. Shape of the roof of the museum resembles of native woven hat…not UFO.
