A roadside waterfalls with amazing three-tiered cascades is only a few km north of Columbia Icefield in Jasper National Park. If you’re lucky, you may see some mountain goats or rams walking around the falls. You can hike all the way up to the top tier on either side of the waterfall.
History of Tangle Falls
Though Tangle Creek was named when explorers coming over Wilcox Pass plowed through “tangle” brush and thick undergrowth throughout the drainage, the falls are more deserving of the name, as the upper section of the falls looks “tangled” up in itself.
