The Mushbowl is located 600m downstream from Dawson Falls or 5km upstream from Helmcken Falls. The Mushbowl Canyon drops 5m (16ft) here and is split by a Cambrian rock in the middle of Murtle River. This Cambrian rock which has resisted erosion creates this little waterfalls here. The swirling water has eroded a small cave into the cliff on the south side of The Mushbowl and it can be entered at low water season (from July onwards).
The seven sisters waterfalls along Murtle River downstream from Murtle Lake are McDougall Falls, Meadow Falls, Horseshoe Falls, Majerus Falls, Dawson Falls, The Mushbowl, and Helmcken Falls. Only the last three falls can be accessed by road; the rest by hiking trails.
