Stacey Soloman of Dagenham Essex is a student and single mum and brought her baby son Zachary along to her audition in London’s O2 Arena. None of the judges thought she would sing that good initially and discovered otherwise after her impressive singing voice.
She told Dermot Oleary:
My name is Stacey, Im 19 yrs old from Dagenham and I live with my mum in Essex with my baby son Zachary, I want the Judges to see me sing so I can be successful in something I really enjoy doing says Stacey
I sing everywhere, at home, my family tell me to shush sometimes, my mum makes faces as I sing (does impression), smiles Stacey, Dermot asks if Zach is interested in her singing, Baby Zach doesnt show any interest ha ha!
If I was successful I could support my family in ways I could never imagine, it means everything to me.
Dermot presents the first set of auditions from London, Manchester and Glasgow. A pair of Irish twins cause Simon and Louis to have a falling out. Stacey Solomon manages to impress all the judges with their voices.
